More detail on this person: Wade Lee Young, 75, of Tow, Texas passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2019. Wade was born to Elbert Young and Ruth Burdette on February 9, 1944 in Monahans, Texas. He married his wife of 26 years, Destrie Winslett, on June 2, 1995. Wade was a retired military helicopter pilot and was proud to call himself a veteran. He loved fishing, hunting, golfing, watching old westerns and war movies, and cheering on his favorite football team, the Cowboys. He spent much of his time at family fish fries, hunting and fishing with his buddies, and working as a hunting guide. Wade is preceded in death by his brothers Donald Young and Howard Young, his sister Helen Dale, and his nephew Doyle Dale. Wade is survived by his wife; his daughters Cindy Philen of Temple and Cheri Cox of Belton; his son James Wray Young of Austin; his sisters Lavaughn Hill of Brownwood and Connie Ivy of Marble Falls; his cousin Richard Young; his grandchildren Alicea, Salena, and Emily; son-in-laws Michael Cox and Billy Rhodes, and numerous other cherished family members. Visitation will be held at 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at Crotty Funeral Home of Belton. Graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery with reception to follow at the VFW hall in Kempner.
