More detail on this person: Mr Garland Alvin York, 72 GARLAND YORK Daytona Beach News-Journal (FL) - Thursday, April 25, 1996 Garland Alvin York, 72, of Alta Vista Street, a retired Air Force pilot, died Wednesday at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Gainesville. Born in Marion, Va., Mr. York moved here in 1982 from Albuquerque, N.M. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion and the National Association of Retired Officers. Survivors include a daughter, Kimberly C. York, DeBary; and a brother, Rudy York, Charlotte, N.C. Altman-Long, DeBary, is in charge.
