More detail on this person: BILLY DONALD WOMACK, 82, died Thursday, August 27, 2015, in Graham. Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 31, 2015, at Texas State Veterans Cemetery. A memorial service will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 31, 2015, at the Hawley Church of Christ, directed by Adams-Graham Funeral Home of Anson.

Born June 17, 1933 in Jones County, Billy was a son of the late William Lewers and Vinnie Lee (Hagler) Womack. He graduated from Anson High School and Abilene Christian College. After graduation from ACC he went into active service in the Marine Corp for 22 years. He retired as a Lt. Col.

having served three tours of duty in Vietnam as both a fighter jet and attack helicopter pilot. He married Mary Bauder October 30, 1954 in Anson. Billy taught for the Hawley ISD until moving to Wylie ISD in 1982.

He retired in 1999. Billy was a faithful member of the Hawley Church of Christ where he served as an Elder.

Billy was preceded in death by two brothers (Jack and Jim Thompson) and his step mother (Lillie Bell Middlebrook).

Survivors include his wife, Mary Womack of Graham; two sons, George Womack (and wife, Robin) of Anson and Jake Womack (and wife, Robin) of Graham; three daughters, Carol Hubbard (and husband, Bob) of Whitesboro, Heather Allen (and husband, Lynn) of Frisco and Victoria Womack of Carrollton; one sister, Buryl Rye of Clifton; 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Family visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, August 30, 2015, at the Hawley Church of Christ.
