More detail on this person: William C. E. Wolfe "Chick" passed away at his home on August 20, 2016. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Rogette; son, Carlton, and brother, David. Chick graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1966, earned an M.S. in Systems Management from the University of Sothern California in 1973, and completed several military training programs. He elected to enter the U.S. Marine Corps, and served as a Naval Aviator for 28 years. As a young officer he served in Viet Nam. Much of his subsequent military service was devoted to working in connection with the CH-53E Super Stallion, the U.S. Military's largest heavy-lift transport helicopter. He was involved in the development, procurement, and production of the CH-53E, as well as its initial operational use as the first squadron Commander of HMH-466 (nicknamed the "Wolfpack" in his honor). He then served at Naval Air Systems Command as Program Manager of the entire CH-53 series of helicopters, All Night Vision Systems, and the Executive Helicopters.

Upon retirement from the Marine Corps in 1994, Chick was employed for 11 years by EER Systems, Inc. (later purchased by L-3 Communications) as a Program Manager over-seeing contracts associated with military procurement.

Chick will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him. He was easy-going with a lively personality, a quick wit, and he quietly possessed a very broad range of knowledge. His willingness to share information and help others, as well as his unwavering dependability, integrity, and incisive ability to identify essentials and place complicated issues into realistic perspective are all traits easily recognized and appreciated by anyone who knew him well.

A funeral service will be held on December, 15 at 9 a.m., at the Old Post Chapel on Ft. Myer, followed by interment with full honors at Arlington National Cemetery. Following the gravesite ceremonies, a reception will be held in the Spates Community Center, Ft. Myer.
