Werenczuk was born on November 3, 1946 in a
Displaced Persons Camp in Bad Wörishofen,
Germany, before resettling with his mother in
Chicago, Illinois.
He served in Vietnam during the Tet offensive
after being drafted, and upon discharge, he
attended warrant officer candidate school and
proudly served in the US Army for 22 years as a
helicopter pilot. Thor enjoyed going to the beach,
gardening and watching the Green Bay Packers,
and he was a kind and funny husband and devoted
father.
A resident of Clarksville, Tennessee, Thor passed
away on July 9, 2016.
Survivors included a daughter; a married son;
grandson; granddaughter; married sister-in-law;
and a married niece with children.
A Celebration of Life Service was held at
Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel, and burial was to
be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in
Hopkinsville, Kentucky.
