More detail on this person: Duane A. Watters was born Oct. 25, 1944, in Akron, Ohio, where he spent his childhood years. He later joined the U.S. Army as a private and worked his way up to become a chief warrant officer, grade 4 (CW4). He was a highly decorated Vietnam veteran. Duane was a helicopter pilot with the 101st Ghost Riders. He always said he would like to be remembered by these words: "Duty, honor and country."

He loved life and enjoyed tinkering around the house. Duane's all time favorite thing was the annual halibut fishing trip with the "Die Hard Six Pack" which consisted of his wife Candice Brew, Marsha, Mark and Glinda.

In February, he was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, and ultimately lost the battle May 7, 2016.

Duane will be remembered by his wife, Candice; son Jason, grandchildren Owen, Dalton and Lilian Watters, sisters Kathy and Linda, brother-in-law Elmer Wambolt, and longtime friends Darrell and Marsha Brewington.

Per Duane's wishes, there will be no services.
