More detail on this person: Chief Warrant Officer (retired) William Franklin Whitlow Jr. "Whit" call sign "Billy Clyde" age 76 graduated to glory on November 19, 2023 in the presence of family at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center, Myrtle Beach, SC, where he succumbed to his injuries, sustained in an auto accident. William was born on July 19, 1947, to William F. And Juanita Phillips Whitlow in Cornelius, NC. He proudly served his country as a UH-1 Huey helicopter pilot during the Vietnam War, and upon his discharge from active duty, he returned to service in the Army National Guard, while working at General Motors, where he retired from both. He was beloved by all for his witty sense of humor and endless stories. He will be remembered and cherished for his love of his family and country. Whit is proceeded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Jo and sister, Meldah Alderton (Reggie). Survived by his daughters, Shannon Jackson of Shallotte, NC and Richella Stawski (Art) of New Orleans, LA; sister Deborah Smith (Dan); grandchildren Arthur Stawski Jr (Erica), Jason Stawski (Laura), Ashley Curie (Matt), Jacob Jackson and seven great grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by his numerous Army "Buds" who were not only lifelong friends, but brothers. The interment is planned for April 19, 2024, at 1 pm in Florence National Cemetery, Florence, SC.
