More detail on this person: Obituary for Jackie Ronald Webb Jackie Ronald Webb, 78, of Jefferson, NC, passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at the W.G. Hefner VA Medical Center. Born September 15, 1935 in Lenoir, TN he was the son of the late Helen Louise Smith Webb and Cecil Webb. He served as a Captain in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and received the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Bronze Star Medal for Heroism. Mr. Webb was owner and operator of The Fruit Truck Trucking Company. He was a member of Mt. Mitchell United Methodist Church, the Ashe Masonic Lodge #594 A.F. & A.M. and Oasis Temple. Surviving are his daughters; Sherry Wolf and husband Gerhard of China Grove, NC, Barbara Hawkins and husband Jerry of Toledo, OH, Deborah Martin of Maryville, TN, and Christa Peters of Freiburg, Germany; step-son, Henrik Kuusinen and wife Gaye of Atlanta, GA; step-daughters, Jaana Sloop of Kannapolis, NC and Saara Sniegowski and husband Scott of Charleston, SC; and sister, Sandra Marsh of Crossville, TN. Also surviving are sixteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, multiple relatives in Tennessee and his favorite Aunt Martha in Indiana, and his beloved dog, Sugar. A memorial service will be held 10 AM - Monday (July 7) at Summersett Memorial Chapel with the Rev. David Raiford, minister of Mt. Mitchell United Methodist Church, Kannapolis, officiating. Inurnment will follow at U.S. National Cemetery, Statesville Blvd. with Military Graveside Rites conducted by the Rowan County Veterans Honor Guard and Masonic Graveside Rites.
