More detail on this person: Richard L. Weaver December 17, 1943 - June 22, 2018 , 74, Richland Twp. passed away June 22, 2018 at Windber Hospice. Born on December 17, 1943 in Windber to Percy and Margaret (Holman) Weaver. Preceded in death by parents; daughter, Cheryl Ann Weaver; sister, Mary Jane Bush and brother, Percy Jr. Survived by wife of 52 years, Marjorie (Kersheskey) Weaver. Richard was an U.S. Army veteran, who served in Viet Nam as a helicopter pilot with the 101st Airborne Division. Member of the Viet Nam Helicopter Pilots Association, Disabled American Veterans Association, Life Member of the Windber VFW Post 4795, the Windber American Legion, NRA, Ducks Unlimited and past member of the Windber Country Club. As a licensed private pilot, Richard enjoyed flying his Ercoupe aircraft. Sincere appreciation to the Johnstown VA Clinic staff for their excellent and compassionate care of Richard throughout his extended illness. Richard was proud and honored to be the Leader of the Windber VFW Ritual Team. In his memory, donations may be made to the Windber VFW Ritual Team. On Saturday, June 30, 2018 at noon, a Graveside Service will be held at St. John's Cantius Catholic Cemetery, Windber with full military honors by the Windber VFW Ritual Team.
