More detail on this person: Timothy Eugene Wilkerson, 69, of Sullivan, passed away peacefully at home at 4:07 p.m. on Friday, March 16th, 2018 in Sullivan, IL. Celebration of Life services will be at 4:00 p.m. Saturday in the Reed Funeral Home in Sullivan. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Saturday. Memorials are suggested to the First Church of Christ Scientist in Decatur or to Camp New Hope. Online condolences may be sent to the family at reedfuneralhome.net. Tim was born in Hamilton, Ohio the son of Albert "Pete" Wilkerson and Dorothy (Strunks) Wilkerson. He was extremely proud to have been an American and to have served his country in the U. S. Army beginning in Vietnam as a helicopter pilot. Tim married Julie Ohm on July 15, 1990 in St. Charles, Missouri. Surviving is his wife and partner-in-crime of over 27 years Julie Ohm Wilkerson; brothers, Bill `Sparky' Wilkerson of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, Bob (Charlene) Wilkerson of Dayton, Ohio, Dave (Janet) Wilkerson of Novato, California, Jerry (Lo) Wilkerson of McMinnville, Oregon; sister Dee Huskey of Osgood, Indiana; children Lorrie Norton of Fyffe, AL, Rebecca (Cal) Yelverton of Mercer, TN, Kevin (Jill) Wilkerson of Venice, FL and Julie (Justin) Tucker of Cincinnati, Ohio; grandchildren Elisabeth (Shaun) Neff, Cameron and Devon Wilkerson, Jonathan and Sarah Norton, Justin (Gracie) Nichols, Kayla Nichols, Jenna Tucker and one great grandchild Meredith Nichols. Tim's gentle manner and kind spirit will be missed by all. He was a gifted "computer techie" as he was completely self-taught and had no formal computer training. He is retired from the U.S. Army National Guard and from Eastern Illinois University. He enjoyed writing, and he has several self-published books. Above all, Tim loved God and his Christian Science faith, his wife, children, all family and friends, and the Wilkerson Felines from over many years -- Molly, Tron, Megabyte, Sammy, George, Poppy, Terabyte and Chaz. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Steve Wilkerson. Memorials may be made to the First Church of Christ Scientist, Decatur, IL or to Camp New Hope.
