More detail on this person: Message at VHPA Facebook: It is my sad responsibility to report the passing of my husband, lifetime member, Capt. Louis R. Whisonant on January 8, 2024. He passed away from renal failure due to complications from heart failure. He served in the Army from 1967 to 1972. He was stationed in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969, Bien Hoa for the 68th Assault Helicopter Company ( Top Tigers ). Upon his return to United States he was an instructor pilot from 1969 to 1972 at Fort Wolters Texas. Whisonant, Louis R., age 77, passed January 8, 2024. Survived by his wife, Debra; son Louis John Whisonant, and his partner, Emily Assman; daughter Sarah Louise Whisonant; grandson Milo Stodola; brother- in-law and sister-in-law, Gilbert and Mary Peers; niece Alisa (David) Novak Shaul; nephews Scott Novak and Joseph Peers; niece, Katie Peers GRAVESIDE SERVICE with Military Honors Monday, January 22, 2:30 p.m. at Omaha National Cemetery.
