More detail on this person: SAVANNAH - Frederick Russell Viles, 71, died Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Memorial University Medical Center. He was born in Waltham, Massachusetts, son of Frederick R. and Shirley Hopf Viles. He graduated from high school in Waltham and later attended Syracuse University for three years. Mr. Viles enter the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War. He later attended Georgia State University receiving a bachelor's degree. Mr. Viles was the owner of the Comic Box in Savannah. He was an avid golfer and above all loved his family and his Lord. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Russell Viles. Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Cheryl Fillmore Viles of Savannah; son and daughter-in-law, Nathan and Sharon Viles of Savannah; two grandchildren, Seamus and Madeline Viles of Savannah and seven nephews. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, April 25, 2016 in the Hodgson Chapel of Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Remembrances may be made to the Cardio-Vascular Fund in the Memorial Health Foundation, P.O. Box 23089, Savannah, GA 31403.
