More detail on this person: Paul Richard Vehe of Pahrump, NV passed away at his home on October 19, 2018. Paul was born January 22, 1947 in Webster, SD to Harold and Helen (Erdahl) Vehe. He graduated from high school in Bristol, SD in 1965 and attended South Dakota State University. Paul enlisted in the Army in 1968 and attended United States Army Aviation School in Fort Hunter, Stewart, GA. He earned rank of Chief Warrant Officer 02. As a Vietnam Helicopter Pilot, he was awarded the Bronze Star, Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal for Valor. He married Daun Roseth in Bristol in 1968. They had two daughters, Kerry and Lisa. After returning from Vietnam, Paul owned and operated a hog, cattle and grain farm outside Butler, SD. He was active in the local area Jaycees and the VFW. In 1985, Paul returned to flying helicopters professionally for over a decade, before moving to Pahrump, NV. Paul is survived by his parents, Harold and Helen (Erdahl) Vehe, brother Dennis, daughter Kerry and her husband Keith Johnson of Hutchinson, MN, daughter Lisa Vehe of Henderson, NV, and grandchildren Gavin and Gabrielle Johnson and Mackenzie Sharrock. He is preceded in death by sister Joan (Vehe) Georgens. A service with full military honors in the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, SD will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Paul's name to the Disabled American Veterans Charitable Service Trust, dav.org.
