More detail on this person: Memorial services for Jimmie Don Ulrich, 74, of Lufkin, will be held in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel, Lufkin. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Jim graduated from Reagan High School in Houston, and attended The University of Texas. He served in the U.S. Army as a Cobra helicopter pilot during the Vietnam War, and received many medals for valor. Jim was the owner of Jim Ulrich Motors in Crockett for many years. Always a community leader, he served as a Rotary President and as President of Spring Creek Country Club. Jim was an avid hunter and golfer. Six years ago, he moved to Lufkin and worked at Wright Buick and GMC.

Survivors include his stepsons, Stephen and Mary McClain, and Gordon McClain and wife Rena; grandchildren, Anna, Sam, Jacqueline and Justin; sister, Jeanne Cline; nephew, Wesley Swanson and wife Carla; great-nephew, David Swanson; great-niece, Ashleigh Swanson; beloved friends, Eddie and Dianne Walker; and a multitude of friends.
