Trotter, 70 of Scottsboro, passed away in his home
with his family at his side on Wednesday, July 31,
2013. He was born on February 6, 1943 to Adron
and Marge Trotter in Sacramento, California. Tim
married Georgia "Gigi" Hall on June 12, 1964 in
Leavenworth, Washington.
Tim graduated from the University of Washington
with a bachelor degree in Forest Management. He
worked for a short time in forestry in Washington
before changing careers and joining the Navy to
fulfill his dream of becoming an aviator. He
started his naval career in Pensacola, Florida
where he completed his flight training. Tim served
twenty honorable years including search and rescue
flying helicopters in the Vietnam War earning the
Distinguished Flying Cross and many other awards
and recognition for his dedication to our country.
Tim was a graduate of the United States Test Pilot
School in Patuxent River, Maryland. He was a
member of the Experimental Test Pilot Society. Tim
worked for several military contractors with the
last being with Westar in Huntsville where he was
a Senior Scientist until his retirement on
February 14, 2012.
Tim was a quiet man who loved his family and
enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and
great-grandchildren. He loved to drive and would
get in his car and just "go." He enjoyed writing
fiction and was in the process of writing a book.
Tim is survived by his wife Gigi and their three
children; Tanya Rutherford (Ryan) of Port Angeles,
Washington, Timothy Trotter Jr. (Susan) of
Rainsville, Alabama and Tabatha Collins (Kris) of
Athol, Massachusetts, ten grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren. At his request, there will be
no funeral services. There will be a celebration
of life with family at a later time. In lieu of
flowers, the family requests that donations in
Tim's honor be sent to: Safe Haven No-Kill Animal
Shelter, P.O. Box 962 Scottsboro, Alabama 35768.
