More detail on this person: Charles Tyler III, 68, died December 26, 2017 at Vitas Ruth Hospice. He was born May 20, 1949 to Charles II and Gwen (Guetzke) Tyler in Milwaukee. Charlie graduated from Union Grove High School. He married Norma (Johnston) Tyler on August 3, 1974 in Union Grove. They cared for a number of four-legged kids throughout the years. Charlie was particularly proud of his military service having enlisted in the Army in 1968. He served in Vietnam from 1969-1970 on the 173rd Aslt Helo Co and was a member of the Robin Hoods in Lal Khe, Vietnam. He earned honorable discharge in 1971. Charles continued to serve in the National Guard from 1973-1978 in Volk Field, Madison. He obtained the rank of Chief Warrant Officer II Helicopter Pilot. Charlie worked as a machinist for Grove Gear, CNC programmer for Twin Disc, and did machine tool sales for Machinery and Factory. He was an avid reader and enjoyed hunting and outdoor sports. Charlie is survived by his wife; sister, and brothers, and several nieces and nephews. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws, and brother-in-law. Burial and full military honors will be at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery on January 4, 2018.
