More detail on this person: Mitchell Glenn Thompson passed on July 7, 2021 in Leesville, Louisiana. Mitch was born on April 20, 1933 to his parents, Donnie and Erma. He was married to Ann Barry Alexander for 34 years. They had three children Mitchell Glenn Thompson, Jr., wife, Frances, William Richard Thompson, wife Pam and Julie Ann Thompson. He was married to Darlene Bennett for 26 years. He had three step-children, Debra Beckwith, husband John, Eric Bennett, wife Taini, and Denise Wills. Mitch was also survived by 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Mitch served in the Army for 22 years. He served two tours in Vietnam. He was stationed throughout the United States, Germany and Korea. He retired as a LTC in 1980 at Fort Polk, Louisiana. He was a member of the Leesville Baptist Church where he served as deacon and Sunday School Superintendent. He also served several terms as the president of the local chapter of the Retired Officer Association. He will be missed by all his family and friends. Funeral services for Mitchell Thompson, 88, of Leesville, will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at First Baptist Church Leesville with Bro. Craig Forque officiating. Services are under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
