More detail on this person: LTC (retired) Thomas J. Terry, Sr, beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away on May 2, 2018, surrounded by his family. He was born Sep 18, 1932 in Wewoka, OK. He is preceded in death by his parents, John B. Terry and Patti Moore Meazel and sister-in-law, Marian Ruth Terry. Jerry graduated from Kemper Military Academy and Oklahoma State University where he met his future wife, LaRue Logan. They were married for 65 years. He served in the United States Army for 20 years as an Army aviator. He had two tours in Korea and two tours in Vietnam. After retiring from the Army, he was a math and ESL teacher. He was a past commander of Chapter 1836 of the Military ORder of the Purple Heart and a past Commander. He was a member of the Church of the Resurrection Episcopal Church where he served on the Vestry and as an usher. He is survived by his wife, LaRue Logan Terry, Thomas J. Terry, Jr. (Denise), son, Kristina Lynn Getty, granddaughter, Thomas Weley Getty, Allyson Theresa Getty, Maddox Logan Terry, and Mason Thomas Terry. He is survived by his brother, John B. Terry, John B. Terry III (Lynn), nephew, and great nephew, Nicholas Terry. He is survived by many relatives and friends. Jerry is being laid to rest at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery, May 26, 2018, with full military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
