More detail on this person: CW4 (Ret) James David Truitt, Jr.A WORWAC Class 69-43; 117th AHC (1970-1971) Fort Worth, Texas - Jimmy Truitt died Thanksgiving Day 2021.A He graaduated from L.D. Bell High School in Hurst, TX.A He went on to receive his BS in Wildlife Science from Texas A&M.A He was an Army trained helicopter pilot and served in Vietnam, Desert Storm and Desert Spring.A He served 20 years, retiring from the Army Reserves. Working as a civilian, he flew for the Florida Game and Fish Commission and the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Department.A Jimmy was part of the first helicopter crew to fly "Trauma Hawk" for the Palm Beach County Health District.A He later flew fire suppression for the Department of Natural Resources in Montana and worked for USDA in Colorado as aviation safety officer for APHIS. He was head of Aviation for the state of Alaska with the Bureau of Land Management and then on to Georgia as Aviation Safety Officer with the US Forest Service. He worked for Flight Safety in West Palm Beach and in Farnborough, England.A Most recently he was adjunct faculty at Tarrant County College in their aviation program.A He possessed a lifetime wealth of knowledge on all things aviation. He is greatly missed by Linda, his wife of 53 years, and his daughters Leila and JacquelineA and family - and by his many friends from around the USA and the world.
