More detail on this person: Robin Sterckx, 71, of Oley, died November 23, 2018, at Tower Health - Reading Hospital, West Reading. He was the husband of Heather J. (Hall) Sterckx to whom he was married on October 12, 1968. Born September 18, 1947, in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was a son of the late Allan M. and Dorothy R. (Steigman) Sterckx. He was a 1965 graduate of Malvern High School, Malvern, N.Y. Robin's career as a corporate helicopter pilot spanned 34 years. He was retired from ROP Aviation where he worked 14 years, retiring in 2001. After retirement, Robin was employed as as bus driver for 10 years, last working with Oley School District. He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, Reading. A great antique American flag collector, Robin was also an amazing woodworker, making very creative pieces. He was also a wonderful storyteller and writer, making him the perfect grandfather. Surviving in addition to his wife, are his two daughters, Candice M., wife of Aaron Sterckx Jones, of Franklin, Mass., and Rachel D., wife of Marc R. Carlson of Yardley, Bucks County. Other survivors include his four grandchildren: Kayla, Corinne, Jack and Linnea. Robin was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Sterckx. Services will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Christ Episcopal Church, 435 Court St., Reading, PA 19601. Viewings will be held Wednesday from 2-3 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. at Stitzel Family Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc., 423 Main St., Oley. Interment will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Oley Ambulance, P.O. Box 381, Oley, PA 19547.
