More detail on this person: Harold Nathaniel Shuler, affectionately known as Harry, was born in Winnfield, Louisiana, on December 12, 1937, and passed away on October 3, 2023. A resident of Gainesville, Georgia for 18 years, Harold was known for his quick wit and funny demeanor, which brought joy to everyone he encountered. He was a loyal friend, a loving father, and a generous man who always put others before himself. Harold served the skies as a professional pilot, a job he carried out with dedication and passion throughout his career. In his retirement, he enjoyed quiet days filled with fishing, reading, and music, activities that brought him great peace and fulfillment. A devoted member of the Bereah Baptist Church of Dahlonega, Harold's faith was an essential part of his life. As Psalm 91:1-2 says, "Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust." Harold is survived by his daughters Julie Schwausch and Laura Johnson, his son Russell Shuler, his step-children Robert Congrove and Michelle Adas, and their spouses. The legacy of Harold's kind spirit and love for life continues through them. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Shuler and Thelma Myers, his beloved wife, Jacqueline Shuler, and his son Mark Shuler. Harold will be interred on Monday, October 16, 2023, at 9:00 am EDT at Georgia National Cemetery, located at 1080 Scott Hudgens Drive, Canton, Georgia, 30114. In memory of Harold, we invite you to share your stories, photos, and memories on his memorial page. These shared moments will serve as comforting reminders of Harold's funny, loyal, loving, and generous nature. Let us celebrate and honor Harold's life by remembering the joy and warmth he brought into our lives.
