More detail on this person: Col. Harry Edman Sexton of Laguna Beach, CA, Col. USMC (Ret.) returned to God on February 15, 2023. Born in Anaheim, CA on December 20, 1932, he married Ann Goodrich in 1958 and served in the United States Marine Corps for 26 years. As an aviator, he flew over 400 combat missions in two tours during the Vietnam campaign. First, commanding the only Marine F-8 Crusader Fighter Squadron to deploy from a Navy Carrier, (USS Oriskany). Second, commanding a squadron of Cobra Helicopters (HMLA-367 "Scarface"). Col. Sexton was awarded the Navy Cross for his heroism during Operation Tailwind as he and his fellow "Scarface" Cobra Gunships engaged the enemy to provide cover for the exfiltration of a nearly overwhelmed force of US Army Special Operators out of Laos. His combat medals likewise include: 2 Legion of Merits w/Combat "V", Distinguished Flying Cross, and 44 Air Medals/Strike Flight Awards. He was inducted into the Golden Eagles for his distinguished career as an aviator. Harry is survived by his wife, Ann, son, Harry Jr.; daughter, Stacie; grandchildren: Kyle, Paige, Tori, Jordan, Dylan; and great grandson Elijah. Generosity, humility, integrity and character were exemplified by Harry Sexton. He lived for others, giving freely of his time, skill, and love to all who were fortunate enough to have known him. An avid Harley Davidson enthusiast, beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. Harry's life will be celebrated at 10:30am on March 10, 2023 at Evans Brown Mortuary in Lake Elsinore, CA. He will then be laid to rest next to his parents at Elsinore Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Wounded Warriors are suggested. We love you Dad Semper Fidelis
