More detail on this person: September 25, 1942 - May 13, 2018 Ruben Santana, age 75, passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2018 in San Antonio, TX. Ruben proudly served his country in the United States Army. He served in Vietnam as a helicopter pilot and later flew fixed wing planes. During his military career, Ruben also provided programming support to various commands until his retirement. Ruben never met a stranger and often forged long time friendships with everyone he encountered. He was proud of his Texan lineage and was a descendant of Jose Francisco Ruiz, one of the signers of the Texas Declaration of Independence. He was preceded in death by his parents, Baltazar and Jacoba Herrera Santana; daughter, Jessica Santana; and brothers, Gilbert Santana and Jesse Santana. Ruben is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Christina Santana; son, Jeffrey Santana; sister, Helen Herrera and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
