More detail on this person: Smith, Larry D. USA, LTC Ret.; Flight Class 68-4 RVN 69-70, 238th AER WPNS. CO. Callsign Gunrunner 36. LTC Col Smith passed away on January 9, 2024 following a long fight with cancer. Larry was born on December 26, 1944, in Milan, MO. Prior to his passing he was a long-time active member and Sunday school teacher at the Tucker Baptist Church in Stone Mountain, Ga. Larry proudly served his country while with the 238th Aerial Weapons Company at An Khe and went on to receiving numerous awards and decorations during his 21 years of service. Larry is survived by his loving wife Phillis of 56 years, a son, Brandon, and daughter Belanda. Larry was laid to rest at the VA National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia.
