More detail on this person: William L. Stone, age 75, passed away on Saturday, December 23rd, 2023. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Eleanor Stone; beloved children: William A. Stone and Joanne (Wade) Heiskell; cherished grandchildren: Sara D. Stone, Nicole R. Stone, Matthew Heiskell and Devon Heiskell; dear sister, Loretta (Patrick) Cornfield; fond nieces: Katie Cornfield and Beth Luke. Preceded in death by his parents: William, Sr. and Edith Stone and daughter, Lisa D. Stone. William proudly served his country during Vietnam in the United States Army's 129th Aviation Co. (AH) as a Helicopter Pilot. He went on to serve in the United States National Guard Co. B 1st Battalion 106th Aviation Regiment. Bill retired from AT&T and the National Guard in 2008. He then went to work for Sporting Arms and Supply in Posen, Illinois. William enjoyed sharpshooting, spending time with his family and volunteering with various organizations. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. Friends and family will gather for a visitation for William that will be held on Thursday, December 28th, 2023 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 4727 West 103rd Street, Oak Lawn, Illinois. Funeral services will take place on Friday, December 29th, 2023 with 9:15 A.M. prayers from Blake-Lamb Funeral Home to St. Germaine Catholic Church, 9711 South Kolin Avenue, Oak Lawn, Illinois for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 A.M. Interment Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery.
