More detail on this person: A Celebration of Life for CW3 Jimmy L. Simon, Sr., ARMY(Ret) will be on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at 1:00 PM at Sykes Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Monday, August 8, 2022, from 4:00PM - 7:00PM at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest beside his wife at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Cunningham. Jimmy was born January 31, 1936, in Bradford, Arkansas, to Susie and Crat Simon. He passed away on August 5, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family. He was retired from both the United States Army and Civil Service. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He loved woodworking, fishing, farming, and eating ice cream. He will be greatly missed by his family and his many pets. In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his Aunt Marylee and Uncle Elmer Ward, his loving wife Lanette, brothers; Buddy Simon, Carl Simon, and Ken Simon. He is survived by his brother George ( Pat) Simon, children; Patty ( Robert) Eads, Jimmy (Sheila) Simon Jr., Gary (Leesa) Simon, Chuck Simon, and David ( Christina) Simon, 18 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 2 great great-grandchildren.
