More detail on this person: He is survived by his sons, Peter (Robin) and Jonathan Swanz, granddaughters Lilly and Laurel Swanz and step-grandson Nick Serpa, brother Bobby Swanz, two nieces and two nephews, as well as many friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter Kirsten Collins Swanz, as well as his sister Gayle and his brother Donnie. Peter Vincent Swanz III, 74, died Wednesday, October 4, 2017, at Florida Hospital East in Orlando, Florida. Born and raised in Buffalo, New York, the son of Peter and Henrietta (Nowak) Swanz, Peter III enrolled in the Army after high school and became a helicopter pilot. After leaving the Army he spent several years as a salesman. He reenlisted in the Army during Desert Storm. Peter lived in many different places, including Arizona, California, Georgia, and Panama. He moved to Orlando in 2006 to enjoy the sunshine and theme parks. Peter was a generous, thoughtful person who was always looking for a way to help those around him. He had a great sense of humor and never met a stranger. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. At Peter's request there will not be a funeral service. The family will hold a private celebration for Peter's life instead. In lieu of flowers the family invites you to consider making a donation to the Michael J. Fox Foundation or the Shriners Hospitals for Children, both of which were near to Peter's heart.
