Beloved husband of the late Patricia Ann (nee Hayes); loving father of Debra (Frank) Eich, James P., John J. (Joanna), Richard T. (Betty) and the late Robert M. Stoverink; grandfather of Jill (Glen) Jenkins, Robert (Darce) Eich, Lieutenant Ryan, Captain Grant and Sergeant Sean Stoverink; great-grandfather of Jonah Eich, Connor, Addison, and Gavin Jenkins, Joshua, Dallas, and Jeter McCrary; dear brother, uncle, cousin and friend. Bob entered the US Army in 1948 and retired as a Colonel in 1978. He served in Germany, Korea, Thailand and Vietnam. He received the Silver Star, Legion of Merit, Distinguished Flying Cross, thirteen Air Medals, Foreign Awards, and many Service and Occupation medals. Upon the death of his son by a drunken driver in 1978, Bob spent the next thirteen years as Director of Bureau Personnel and Training for the St. Louis County Police Department. Services: Funeral Mass at St. Gerard Majella Catholic Church, Kirkwood, Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2020, at 11:00 a.m Interment PRIVATE, Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
