More detail on this person: Robert G. Segura Sr., 68, of East Moline, passed away Thursday April 11, 2019 at University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10am Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at St. Mary's Church, Moline. Visitation will be 4 -7pm Monday at Rafferty Funeral Home, Moline. Burial will be at National Cemetery with combined military honors by Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 299 and MAVA. Memorials can be made to University of Iowa Hospital, Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 299 or MAVA. Robert was born March 6, 1951 in Davenport, the son of Daniel Sr. and Esther (Gross) Segura . He married Lynn Baker McNeill on December 11, 1993 in Colona, IL. Robert graduated from Rock Island High School in 1969. He then graduated from Blackhawk College and St Ambrose College. Robert retired from the Moline Police Department after 31 years then retired after 34 years from the Iowa Army National Guard as an Army Military Helicopter Pilot CW-4. Robert was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 299, MAVA, American Legion Post 273, Moline Police Benevilent Association, Alpha Troop 2nd Squadron/17th Calvary 101st Airborne Division and Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Association. He enjoyed flying, traveling and spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife, Lynn; children, Maria Segura (Shelly Lauritsen, Oklahoma City, OK, Kim Segura, Moline, Robert "B.G." (Melinda) Segura, East Moline, Megan McNeill-Stubbe (Michael Stubbe), Rockford, Devin (Allison) McNeill, Moline and Michael (Kelly) Segura, East Moline; grandchildren, Daymein, Tristan, Jake, Alex, Kevin "K.C.", Meyers, Mila and Madux and brother, Jack (Marcia) Segura, Ft. Thomas, KY. He was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel Segura, Jr. and sister, Mary Ellen Flanders.
