More detail on this person: Harold Ray Skelton, age 80, of Enterprise, Alabama, passed away Monday, December 12, 2022 at his home. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, December 19, 2022 at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory with Pastor Charlie Crowe officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until service time. Burial will follow at 12:30 P.M., Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spanish Fort, Alabama. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Civitan Club or American Legion. Mr. Skelton was born February 18, 1942, in Evansville, Indiana, to the late Waldo and Tempa Skelton. He served for 22 years in the US Army, including two tours in Vietnam as a Chinook pilot, and retired as a CW4. He later served as an instructor pilot and ground simulator instructor at Fort Rucker. He was actively involved in numerous organizations, including the American Legion Post 73, VFW, DAV, Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Association, VVA, Civitan, Mason's and Shriner's. He was preceded in death by his brother Bob Skelton. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Donna Skelton; two sons, Steve Skelton (Kimberly), Louisville, KY; Troy Skelton (Karen), Sulphur, LA; four granddaughters, Hallie Sinclaire Skelton, Jackson, MS; Emily Anne Skelton, Louisville, KY; Caroline Diane Skelton, Dallas TX; Katherine Lynn Skelton, Baton Rouge, LA; grandson, Robert Clarke Skelton, Louisville, KY; other extended family.
