More detail on this person: Granite Bay, California - Tom died peacefully in his sleep after battling cancer for 25 years. He was born to Oren and Mary Robinson in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He graduated from Norte Del Rio High School in 1968 and entered the Army in 1970. He was a Dustoff Helicopter pilot in Vietnam and flew multiple combat missions where he earned two Silver Stars and a Purple Heart for gallantry in action. After his service he finished his business degree and became a Senior Divisional Executive for American Express Financial Services. Tom never complained about his health and was optimistic about life. He was a true family man, strong and caring husband, hands-on proud father and loyal friend. Tom was an avid reader, enjoyed golf and a good card game. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Caprice; his sons, Brett (Alison), Brian (Kelli) and granddaughter Leena. The funeral will be held January 8th at 12:00 pm at St. Joseph Marello, 7200 Auburn Folsom Road, Granite Bay, California. Reception to follow. Burial will take place at Arlington National Cemetery later next year.
