More detail on this person: Lyle C. Motley, Jr., age 82 of Horseheads, NY, was born March 4, 1941 in Danville, VA, son of the late Lyle C. Motley, Sr. and Elvin Boyd Ford and passed away Thursday, August 3, 2023 at the Robert Packer Hospital after a brief illness. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son Lyle C. Motley III. Lyle is survived by his wife of 33 years, Ann (Sastri) Motley; daughters and their spouses Shearin & John Light with their son Carter of VA, Eustacia & Desare'a Rosastri with their daughter Shackleton of CO; sister and brother-in-law Sara & Ronald Chaney of VA. Lyle retired from the gas industry. He was a highly decorated Vietnam veteran serving as a Captain in the U.S. Marine Corps. Family and friends are invited to visit Walter J. Kent Funeral Home, 858 Lake St. at Washington Ave., Elmira on Friday, August 11th from 5 to 7 pm. His memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 12th at 2 pm in North Presbyterian Church, 921 College Ave., Elmira. Rev. Evan Hansen will officiate. Interment, with military funeral honors Arlington National Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may remember Lyle through donations to North Presbyterian Church Food Pantry, 921 College Ave., Elmira, NY 14901
