More detail on this person: Michael J. Moran was born in Long Beach CA on August 19,1945, and passed away at Palm Beach Gardens Hospice FL. on February 6, 2017. Mike joined the Army in Anaheim CA in November 1967. Following completion of OCS in 1968, he went on to attend Army Aviation Flight Class as a 2nd Lt. After gaining his wings, he went to AMOC course, completing in 1969. Mike joined Bristow Helicopters in 1974. He was posted to Iran, where he remained until 1976. He was then transferred to Aberdeen, Scotland and flew Pumas. In 1977 he attended the Bristow instructor course and was passed as a CAA TRE/IRE. He was then transferred to the new Bristow operation in the Gulf of Mexico (BOHI). There followed many assignments in Africa and Asia. Parkinsons disease curtailed his flying career. He continued in aviation as simulator instructor at Flight Safety until 2009. He is survived by his wife, Daphne.
