More detail on this person: Woodbridge, VA - Raymond "Ray" LaBier, 80, of Woodbridge, VA, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2018 in his home, surrounded by family. Ray retired as a CW3 aviator with 23 years of service in the United States Army. He is a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served two tours, where he earned multiple medals. These include the Distinguished Flying Cross, Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Cluster, Meritorious Service Medal, and Air Medal with 26 Oak Leaf Clusters. After various duty locations around the word he retired with honors from the military in 1979, in Northern Virginia. Soon after, Ray started his own business, Nicole Trucking, Inc., which he ran for over 30 years and retired from in 2015. He grew up in West Brookfield, Massachusetts. He was the youngest son of Edmund LaBier and Albertine LaBier who preceded him in death. Ray is survived by his wife, Alice; their child, Nicole LaBier; children from first marriage, Brent LaBier, Denise LaBier Pilkington, Nadine LaBier; stepchildren, Michelle Day, Fred Lourenzo and David Lourenzo; 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; siblings, Roger LaBier, Ronald LaBier, Jeanne Mendala and Lorraine Chisholm. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 11th from 5-8pm at Miller Funeral Home, 3200 Golansky Blvd., Woodbridge, VA 22192. Church service will be held on Thursday, December 13th at 11:00am at Elizabeth Ann Seaton Catholic Church, 12805 Valleywood Dr, Lake Ridge, VA 22192. Interment, with full military honors, will follow at Quantico National Cemetery, 18424 Joplin Rd, Triangle, VA 22172, at 1:00pm. A bereavement gathering will be held afterwards at Old Hickory Golf Club, 11921 Chanceford Dr, Woodbridge, VA 22192, from 2:00-4:30pm. Charitable donations in memory of Ray may be made to the USO (www.uso.org/donate/donate-in-honor)
