More detail on this person: Ronald (Ron) Anthony Kent, 75, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 24, 2023 in his home surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the loving husband of Susan (DiNorscia) Kent for 49 years. Born in Camden, NJ, he was the son of the late Raymond and Margaret Kent. He grew up in Mount Royal, NJ and graduated from Gloucester Catholic High School. Ron joined the army in 1969 and learned to fly a helicopter. He was sent to Vietnam for 18 months, and he told many stories of what that experience was like from his view in the sky. Ron's work took him to AbuDhabi, Saudi Arabia where he would fly engineers out to inspect rigs on the Persian Gulf. He also flew for a variety of companies including Macmillan Publishers (Pearson), and later retired from a long and successful career at Prudential Financial as a Corporate Pilot in 2018. Ron's ability to maneuver the world's most sophisticated helicopter AKA the "Cadillac of the Sky" was impeccable. His flawless flight record and excellent technical skills made his passengers feel safe and secure, including some of the most famous of Hollywood whom he had the privilege of flying. Ron could pick up a hammer and build anything he set his mind to. He also was able to architect a large summer garden that yielded the best of Jersey vegetables. Ron also loved to learn, and in 1984, began to study the Bible with Jehovah's Witnesses and progressed, with his wife, to dedication and baptism. His long career of serving Jehovah with his wife yielded a life with purpose and deep satisfaction. He raised his family in Vernon, NJ, an area where his children enjoyed winter snowboarding and summer lake activities. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Susan, son Steven of Hardyston, NJ, grandchildren Steel and Kane; his daughter Christina Wyant (Brenden) of Warwick, NY, grandchildren Ava, Marley, Ryder, Dalis, and Levi; two brothers Mike (Vicki) and Bruce (Terri); his sister-in-law Joan, and many beloved nieces and nephews. Ron was predeceased by his brother Raymond. A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 25 Parker Street, Franklin, NJ 07416 on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 3:30 p.m. Posted online on May 03, 2023 Published in New Jersey Herald
