More detail on this person: FORT WORTH - John (Jack) Koslow died peacefully at home Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Born Sept. 30, 1943, in Palm Beach, Florida at The Breakers Hotel, Jack was the oldest child of John and Zelma Koslow. He attended Hickory High School in Sharon, Pennsylvania and graduated in 1961. He attended the University of Akron, in Akron, Ohio and graduated in 1965 at which time he entered the U.S. Army through ROTC as a Second Lieutenant. He served in the First Air Cavalry Division as a helicopter pilot in Vietnam until 1969 and was awarded the Bronze Star and the Air Medal for Valor. Anyone who knew Jack knew how dedicated he was to the Army and especially to the United States of America and the freedoms it provides. As he was often quoted as saying, "it was the best adventure of my life". Jack worked for Merrill Lynch as an investment banker from 1969-1976. From 1976 - 1992 Jack worked at Fort Worth National Bank as a commercial banker, rising to the position of Executive Vice President. In 1993, Jack purchased Leito's Supply Company where he built a successful masonry supply company and helped grow the United Masonry Contractors Association, serving on the board of directors for over 13 years. After 25 years of ownership, Jack sold Leito's Supply Company to a good friend and competitor and began his semi-retirement. He served as former member and President of the Breakfast Tips Club and held memberships in The Fort Worth Club, and Rivercrest Country Club. In 2008, Jack joined the Town of Westover Hills City Council where he enjoyed serving his neighbors as a Council Member and Mayor Pro Tem. As a strong christian, Jack has been an active member of St. Andrew's Anglican Church for over 35 years. His family would like to thank Dr. Robert Kelly for the care, friendship, and wisdom he provided through many years. They would also like to extend their deepest thanks to his loyal caregivers, Sabrina and Aida. Special thanks to the entire staff of St. Gabriel's Hospice, especially his nurse Mandy and Aides Juana and Maria and his dedicated housekeeper, Elena Luna. He cared deeply for each of them. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Zelma Koslow; and his wife, Caren Koslow. Jack is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Judy; his treasured family: Wendy and husband, Clayton Jones, Annabelle Bartholow and husband, Ryan, and Ryan T. Jones. Extended family, Scott Smith and wife, Dawn and Tom Smith and wife, Bernie; sisters, Pamela Giffin and husband, Jim, Paula Ogg and husband, Jim; nephews, Max Giffin, Jack Giffin. He leaves his beloved dog, Beau and a host of dear friends. Service: 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Andrews Anglican Church.
