More detail on this person: Rodger Logan Jones was born October 20, 1944 in Opelika, Alabama and passed away on August 16, 2024. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1966 and served for more than 21 years. During that time he displayed meritorious achievement as a Helicopter Co-Pilot of Marine One assigned to the Presidential detail for both Nixon and Ford. After retiring from the military in 1987 he owned and operated numerous franchises and businesses in the DC metropolitan area. Rodger leaves behind his wife Vera, two sons Gregory and Rodger "Anthony" Jones (Gemma), a daughter Shamika Boukhair (Younes), five grandchildren Nygel Jones, Laila, Yasmine, Zahraa and Sherine Boukhair, a brother James "Bubba"Jones (Patricia), a maternal aunt Mary Brown of Opelika, AL and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will cherish his memory. Viewing will be held from 6-8 PM on August 28, 2024 at Miller Funeral Home in Woodbridge, VA. Funeral services will be at Pohick Episcopal Church in Lorton, VA on August 29, 2024 at 9:00 AM followed by a 1:30 PM Military Ceremony at Quantico National Cemetery.
