More detail on this person: Lloyd Martin Hardy, 86, of Yukon, OK passed into eternity on January 18, 2024, at home. His loving wife, Jeanine, was with him. Lloyd was born June 14, 1937, in Britton, SD to Arne and Tina Hardy. Lloyd and Jeanine were married on June 21, 1959. In 1961 Lloyd entered the US Army Air Corp, serving in Korea and Vietnam as a Captain and helicopter pilot. Later in life after his military service he worked for the Bureau of Land Management in Wyoming, he was District Manager for Purina Mills, and an Insurance Agent and Financial Advisor for Thrivent Financial. After retirement Lloyd worked 11 years for the Rapid City Parks Department. Lloyd was a devout Christian and participated in many roles at the various churches he attended. Having a love for the Word of God he was a proud member of the Gideons for 23 years and he had a passion for sharing the Word of God with as many people as possible. Lloyd was a good man with a sweet spirit. He was well liked, honest, dependable, strong, stable and wise. He was a caring man who loved his family. Lloyd's wife and family dearly loved him. Lloyd is survived by his wife of 64 years, Jeanine, son, Lon of Minot, ND, daughters Brenda and Dawn and son-in-law Jason of Yukon, OK, five special grandchildren; Megan (Cody), Brandon (Sierra) and Nicholas (Abby), Caleb (Danielle), Rachel (Kris), six great grandchildren; Savannah, Eden, Graham, Nathan, Madison and Paisley. Lloyd is preceded in death by his parents, one brother Richard and one daughter Deanna Mae. Services will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024 , 11:00 AM at the Westgate Christian Assembly Church. In lieu of flowers the family has suggested donations to the Gideons in his memory.
