More detail on this person: Ronald Allan Dare Sr. passed away on April 7th, 2016 in Henderson, Nevada. He was born on June 27th, 1941 to Richard and Alice Dare in Los Angeles, California. Ron joined the United States Army on July 10th, 1961. He married Janet Lee Dare on January 2nd, 1966. Ron served in active duty for 12 years. During his service Ron was a medic with the green berets and later a helicopter pilot. He served three tours of duty in Vietnam during the 1960s and was awarded four bronze stars for valor. After his service in the Army, Ron enlisted in the Army Reserves in 1973, and later retired at the rank of Major in 1986. In 1989 Ron and Janet moved their family from San Jose, California to Green Valley, Nevada, where Ron worked with the Clark County Dept. of Aviation until his retirement in 2003, at the age of 62. Ron was an avid reader; he loved history and politics, especially his family, and was the true definition of an American Patriot. Ron is survived by his wife Janet; daughter Christine (Scott) Stone: sons Ronald Dare Jr. (Cheryl), and Richard (Danielle) Dare: and his grandchildren: Justin, Taylor, Peyton, Annalise and Piper. He is also survived by his brothers: Bill Dare and Bob Dare; and sisters: Jeanne McDonald, Janet Brown, and Gerry Brosius.
