More detail on this person: Major Daniel Jackson Cumbow, beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away on September 19, 2024, at the age of 81. Born on August 13, 1943, Dan led a life filled with service, love, and passion for the things he cherished most. A proud veteran of the United States Army, Dan served with honor from November 1966 to November 1986, retiring as a Major. His time in Vietnam from 1969 to 1970 was marked by bravery and dedication, earning him numerous medals, including the Bronze Star and Silver Star. Dan liked computers and remote control planes. He also enjoyed watching TV shows like Skinwalker, all things about the military, and Fox News. After his time in the military, Dan found passion in the IT field, in which he held a career for over 25 years. He also had a big heart for dogs and his feline companion, Tom. He is survived by his loving wife, Towana Davis-Cumbow; his children, Todd (Suzanne) Cumbow and Lindy (Dwight) Davis; and his cherished grandchildren, Zachary (Aja) Davis, Christopher Davis, Hannah Cumbow, and Rhyan Cumbow. Dan also leaves behind his beloved stepchildren, Garry Montgomery, Tim Montgomery, Mark Davis, and Kristine Brickner, along with several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom will miss him dearly.
