More detail on this person: James ,Jim, Conyers, 89, husband of Margaret (Margie), passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday October 2, 2024. He was born January 20, 1935, in Kansas City, MO, to parents the late Byron Conyers and Minnie (Teegarden) Conyers and was the first of six children. He graduated from the University of Nebraska and married his ,Honey Bunny, and the love of his life Margie Lichthardt Conyers in Lake Forest, Illinois in 1970. Jim grew up in the Kansas City area and joined the US Air Force in 1954 and joined the US. Army in 1966 as a pilot and served his country honorably. His bravery during the Vietnam War earned him the Distinguished Flying Cross, for heroic actions while participating in an aerial flight; The Soldiers Medal, for heroic actions; Master Aviator Wings; 27 Air Medals; and the Bronze Star, along with many other meritorious medals. He flew rotary and fixed wing aircraft_the CH-47 Chinook helicopter, the RP-2E flying combat missions, and the King Air . After the war he continued flying with the Army and retired after a 22-year career with honors as CWO4. Mr. Conyers is survived by his wife, Margie, his son Jay and his wife Roxanne of Wichita Falls, TX and two grand children, Kristen and her husband Israel Barron and Sara, and many special friends. Jim enjoyed life and made people around him laugh. He loved strumming on his guitar, listening to western music, biking with his beloved toy poodle tucked in his back pack or in his red sports car, and hunting in his younger days. Jim and Margie enjoyed life in Denver Colorado for 15 years and moved to Kingwood in 1982 from Denver Colorado.
